about
Bronzette is a little light music for the with-it girl, the diary of a chic mademoiselle on the beach, who loves nothing as much as soaking up the sun in a bikini. A made-in-France collection offers a large choice of Liberty prints, bi-stretch and jersey in lively colors with playful details.
After graduating in law, Alexandra Joly-Firino Martell set out for the fashion world. She studied at Studio Berçot and assisted at the New York offices of Alexandre de Betak, the artistic director of fashion shows for Galliano, Dior and Viktor & Rolf, before working with the fashion press. Next, at Peclers style studio, she deciphered trends and advised luxury magazines.
In 2005, this young woman launched Bronzette. Finding a well-cut, sexy swimsuit that matched her fashion desires had previously proven to be a challenge. Tired of all the endless models in synthetic materials, she created a collection of bikinis with a sexy charm.
From the very first season, Bronzette caught the attention of the top fashion magazines including Elle, Vogue and Women's Wear Daily. This interest would be repeated each year.
The first collection sold out as the Liberty models became must-have items. Among the fans of the label was none other than director Sofia Coppla.
Imagining each season as a prêt-à-porter collection, Alexandra decided in 2006 to widen her offer by launching a mini-collection of clothes coordinated with the swimsuits, which enjoyed the same success.
The simple forms combined with well-cut details and sophisticated finish give the product the legitimacy of an up-market brand.
This is in coherence with the points of sale. We find the label at Bon Marché, Printemps and Merci in Paris; as well as other multi-brand retailers in Barcelona, Madrid, Athens, Tokyo, Seoul and Webster in Miami.
A fifties spirit blows through the 2010 collection: Floral Liberty prints, panther prints, Lurex stripes, featherweight jerseys, candy colors, drapes, flounces and bow details on shoulder straps... A look that is both sexy and retro for an offbeat chic that we find in her first cruise collection, available exclusively in a few points of sale in December.
Bronzette is the couture spirit for the smallest thing we've invented to hide our nudity.
